Safari was part of my bucket list and I made it happen. I wanted to be adventurous, but in the same time safe enough so that I can fully enjoy it.
I’ve heard before that South Africa is an amazing country, has lots of things to offer and Safari was one of them. In the same time I found it as being the safest (if we can call it like this) among the countries where you can go for this type of activity & the most developed one.
As I wanted to make it simple, I booked the whole Safari trip via an agency based in south Africa, agency found on the internet. They had good reviews on Tripadvisor & other similar websites, so I decided to go with them. They were very helpful, fast in responding & willing to help with any needed information.
They can arrange everything: transfer from the airport to the Park & back, lodging with meals included & the game drives (usually 2 per day, one early in the morning and the other one in the afternoon). They have more options available, everything depends on how much money and time you are willing to spend.
They have more lodges available, the one where I’ve stayed is called Lukimbi, not far from the entrance in the Park when coming from Johannesburg. They have 2 types of bungalows, Classic & Premier, the last one having a private pool. Both of them are spacious & offers a nice view outside through the huge window located in the bathroom.
When planning, I had one concern – the food & because of this I have packed some biscuits & chocolate, just to be on the safe side. But, there is no need. They have an amazing chef and the meals are comparable to the ones in a Michelin star restaurant. Everything was absolutely delicious, way above my expectations.
They have experienced rangers, who knows exactly where to take you in the park so that you see all the Big 5. They are nice & friendly people and their background and stories are impressive, so that the game drive will be even more pleasant.
Enjoy the ride & ask for advice if needed!
