If you are looking for a romantic, peaceful holiday, this is exactly the place to be! Otherwise, if your plan is to party until sunrise, this part of the island is definitely not for you.

Renting a car can anytime be an option for exploring the island, the distances are not significant and you can easily go from one part to another. Please make sure you are comfortable with driving on the other side of the road 🙂

After making a serious research on where to stay in Koh Samui, especially in winter season (which is btw as you could imagine the peak season and the most expensive), I chose to go for the Marriott Resort & Spa.

I am not a fan of chain hotels, as I hate the crowded places, with no personal touch, where you feel just like one of the others 200 guests which are sharing the same roof. BUT, luckily enough, this place can satisfy every taste.

On top of the regular double rooms available in the main building (which can definitely be a good option), they also have individual villas (with 1 or 2 bedrooms). It’s like having your own house, with garden & a pool, where nobody will bother in case you need some privacy. And only few steps away from the beach. What else can you ask for?

Actually there might be something!

Breakfast is included in the room price and it’s delicious. Make sure you don’t forget to ask for your pancakes.

A generous swimming pool & a private beach, both having access to the bar. The bar is open the whole day for drinks, but they also serve food, so no need to interrupt your day at the beach.

Dining – there are 5 restaurants available in the resort, in case you don’t feel like getting out. You have where to choose from.

SPA is also available on the site – please make sure you make appointment for the famous Thai massage.

Other facilities: airport shuttle, car rental, excursions around the island, fitness centre
